Navi Mumbai boy tops national financial literacy test

NAVI MUMBAI: Abhinav Agarwal, a Class X students from Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) ONGC, Panvel, has topped the inaugural National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT). Around 1 lakh students from 2,000 schools across the country participated in the test. Shaswat Madan, another Navi Mumbai student from DAV Public School ranked second in western zone.
Agarwal scored 95 out of a maximum of 100. Talking to TOI, Agarwal said he prepared for NFLAT by going through every topic and sub-topic on his own. And whenever he was stuck, his father, Shiv K Gupta, who is a career banker with a public sector banking major, helped him clear his doubts. He also got some help from Prakash Praharaj, a Navi Mumbai-based financial advisor, who is associated with National Institute of Securities Management (NISM). He had conducted a seminar at KV Panvel earlier this month and also organized the test for NCFE.
